Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Bosnjak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Velasquez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mario Bosnjak's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Bosnjak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bosnjak looks to clinch and Velasquez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Velasquez. Bosnjak tries a knee to the head but Velasquez blocks it.
Bosnjak throws a knee to the head but misses.
Velasquez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Velasquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bosnjak darts in trying to clinch and Velasquez counters with a left and a right that stings Bosnjak. Mario Bosnjak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bosnjak looks to clinch and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Velasquez pushing down on Bosnjak's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Velasquez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velasquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. It looks like Velasquez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Velasquez gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Velasquez lands a head kick. Bosnjak smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Velasquez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velasquez gets the takedown into side control. Velasquez decides to stand back up. Bosnjak closes the distance looking to clinch and Velasquez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bosnjak's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Velasquez stays in close to Bosnjak's body and controls the position. Bosnjak is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cain Velasquez wasn't active enough on the ground. Velasquez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Velasquez stands up and beckons Bosnjak to his feet. Velasquez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bosnjak napping and manages to drive through into side control! Velasquez decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bosnjak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Velasquez is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasquez works over Bosnjak with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Velasquez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Velasquez content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Velasquez dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Velasquez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Velasquez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Velasquez stands up and we're back to a striking position. Bosnjak wants to clinch and Velasquez counters with a crisp one two that drops Bosnjak! Velasquez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bosnjak to his feet! Bosnjak is in big trouble!
Bosnjak is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez forces Bosnjak back against the cage and clinches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Velasquez breaks the clinch.
Velasquez gets a clinch. Velasquez misses with a knee strike.
Bosnjak blocks an elbow strike from Velasquez.
Velasquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Velasquez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Velasquez pushes down on Bosnjak's leg and manages to get into half guard. Velasquez scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Velasquez escapes and gets back to his feet. Bosnjak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bosnjak tries to clinch but Velasquez moves away and Velasquez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Velasquez. Velasquez tries to pull guard but Bosnjak won't allow it.
Velasquez drags the fight down to the ground.
Bosnjak has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Velasquez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Bosnjak throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Velasquez's body to avoid the submission. Velasquez has instead reached around Bosnjak's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Velasquez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cain Velasquez!
