Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Strongback (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglass James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strongback comes into the arena with See See Rider by Elvis blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Strongback! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglass James! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strongback closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. James using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Strongback has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Strongback stalling the fight.
Strongback blocks an elbow strike from James.
Strongback escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Strongback throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Strongback off to one side. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Strongback shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. James looks to clinch and Strongback counters with a shoot takedown. James fights it but they end up in guard. James had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Strongback is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. James Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Strongback's back instead. James missing with strikes. James working for a choke but Strongback reverses nicely into James 's guard. Strongback tries to stand but James is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strongback gets to his feet - James follows without any prompting. James tries to clinch but Strongback moves away and Strongback decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in James's guard. James looking to sweep here. No luck so far. James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Strongback! Strongback tries to reverse the position but James maintains control. James goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Strongback turns into him and now he's in James's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James is striking off his back. Strongback thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. James looks gassed! Strongback winds up and cracks James with a swinging punch to the side of the head. James tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Strongback wants to work for an arm triangle but James is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Strongback stops James from getting back to his feet.
Strongback blocks the strikes from James.
Strongback looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Strongback tries to stand but can't do so whilst James controls his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strongback is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Strongback seems to be looking for submissions.
James is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Strongback stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Strongback shoots in but James avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Strongback. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Strongback closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Strongback lands in his opponent's guard. Strongback tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. Strongback tries to stand but James is controlling from the bottom. James wants to sweep but no luck. James striking from the bottom here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Strongback dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

James is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Strongback pulls his head out easily. James striking from half guard on the bottom.

James is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Strongback has latched onto it... Big trouble! Strongback pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it James is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Strongback!
