Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bart Timmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bart Timmons!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Timmons.
Jeremy Durden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Timmons fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Durden does no damage.
Durden's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Durden duly obliges.
Timmons dives in and grabs Durden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Durden pushes down on Timmons's head and hops out.

Durden looks to land a combination. Timmons sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Timmons feints and as Durden raises his hands in defense, Timmons changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Timmons in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Timmons throws a big right hand that misses.

Timmons drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Durden dives on top into guard.
Timmons is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Timmons can do anything to dispel that myth.

Timmons is trying to control the position but Durden postures up.

Durden pushes down on Timmons's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Durden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Timmons swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Durden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Timmons is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Durden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Durden scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Timmons throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Durden throws a series of punches but Timmons moves out of range.
Durden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Timmons circles away quickly and effectively.
Durden scores with a jab.
Durden throws a nice looking combination but Timmons bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Durden misses with a series of wild punches.
Timmons closes the distance and clinches up with Durden, looking for a takedown. Timmons pushes Durden against the ropes but Durden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Timmons takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Durden throws a head kick that Timmons semi-blocks.

Timmons shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Durden is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Timmons unloads with some shots from mount but Durden bucks and avoids them well.

A close third round but Bart Timmons just about did enough to take it.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Timmons shoots in looking for a takedown. Durden tries to sprawl out of it but Timmons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Durden manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Timmons takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Durden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice leg kick lands there from Durden.

Timmons tries to clinch but Durden moves out of range.
Timmons avoids a punch combination nicely.
Timmons misses with a jab, cross combination.
Durden takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Timmons takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Timmons rushes Durden and presses him up against the ropes.
Durden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Timmons has him pressed against the ropes.

Durden buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Timmons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Durden's waist but Durden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Timmons off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jeremy Durden.
I think Durden has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
