Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Crichton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Royster! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Royster shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crichton sprawls well. Crichton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Royster gets slowly back to his feet. Crichton is looking to clinch but Royster is avoiding it.
Royster looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crichton is fending him off so far but Royster persists. Nope, Crichton circles away and we're back to standing. Royster lands a nice shot that snaps Crichton's head back.
It looks like Michael Crichton has been cut. Excellent takedown into side control there by Royster. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Royster trying to control the action but Crichton is working from the bottom. Crichton struggling a bit here. Royster wants to finish this one by submission but Crichton is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Royster. Royster takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Crichton holds on to Royster around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Royster trying to control but Crichton is having none of it.

Royster jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Crichton manages to avoid the submission attempt. Crichton struggling a bit here. Crichton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Royster wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Crichton not allowing Royster to control his hands. Crichton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Royster just trying to survive but Crichton is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Crichton is riding his opponent, not letting Royster buck him off. Royster defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Crichton's arms. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Royster prevents Crichton from getting a body triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royster fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crichton, pushing him back against the cage. Royster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Crichton pulls him back up using the underhooks. Crichton jumps guard but Royster stands there with Crichton around his waist. Crichton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Crichton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Royster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Royster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crichton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Crichton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Royster not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Royster is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Crichton is aware though and is defending well. Crichton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Royster is keeping the position for now. Royster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crichton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Crichton has gone for a leg lock! Royster slips out almost immediately though and dives into Crichton's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crichton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Royster defends it easily. Royster trying to control but Crichton is working from the bottom. Crichton keeping full guard, as Royster tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Royster wants to stand and escape but instead Crichton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Royster is adopting a defensive guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crichton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Royster is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Royster has escaped and now he's on top! Crichton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Royster stacks Crichton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Royster! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Royster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Crichton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crichton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Royster is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Crichton, into his guard. Marcus Royster has got the better of the ground game so far. Royster controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Royster is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Crichton. Crichton is not content to let Royster control the position. Crichton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Royster wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Royster takes a little break here. Crichton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. And that's the end of the fight! Michael Crichton showed his dominance in that final round. Well Royster has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
