Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robin Carlgren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Ekenbladh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Carlgren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Ekenbladh!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekenbladh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carlgren connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ekenbladh momentarily.
Carlgren fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Carlgren moves into range and clinches up with Ekenbladh.

Carlgren escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlgren throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carlgren's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carlgren duly obliges.
Ekenbladh misses with a double jab
and Carlgren counters with a stiff right hand.


Ekenbladh is rocked!
Ekenbladh tries to clinch up

and Carlgren counters by moving into the clinch.

Ekenbladh has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Carlgren regains guard immediately.

Ekenbladh avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carlgren manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Carlgren working for a submission but Ekenbladh is keeping him at bay.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ekenbladh tries to hold on but Carlgren pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You get the feeling that Ekenbladh really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Ekenbladh tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Carlgren looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Carlgren jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ekenbladh manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Carlgren is breathing heavily.
Ekenbladh sneaks back into half guard.
Carlgren prevents Ekenbladh from standing back up.

Carlgren seems to be looking for submissions.

Carlgren looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ekenbladh is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carlgren passes to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carlgren tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carlgren has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Carlgren passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ekenbladh!

Carlgren with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Carlgren moves to back control.

Carlgren is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ekenbladh defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carlgren is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ekenbladh is defending well though. Carlgren let's go of the attempt for now.
Ekenbladh rolls, trying to escape but Carlgren keeps control of the position.

Carlgren is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ekenbladh defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Carlgren is persistently looking for the submission but Ekenbladh is defending it well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
