PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tellus Cavinato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Justice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tellus Cavinato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Justice!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cavinato is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Justice is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Justice has escaped and now he's on top!

Cavinato working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Justice doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Justice manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Justice throws a body punch but Cavinato moves out of range.
Cavinato shoots in looking for a takedown. Justice tries to sprawl out of it but Cavinato keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Justice manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Justice throws a series of punches but Cavinato avoids them all with ease.
Cavinato closes the distance and clinches up with Justice, looking for a takedown. Cavinato pushes Justice against the cage but Justice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cavinato postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Justice is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cavinato, into his guard.
Justice must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cavinato has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Justice is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cavinato.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I think Justice has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
