Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Da La Rosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Jayhawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Da La Rosa is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Da La Rosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Jayhawk! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da La Rosa feints and as Jayhawk raises his hands in defense, Da La Rosa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Da La Rosa trying to control but Jayhawk is working from the bottom. Jayhawk is trying to keep Da La Rosa in close.
Jayhawk thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Da La Rosa postures up in Jayhawk's guard and throws a big left but Jayhawk blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Da La Rosa drops back looking for a leg! Jayhawk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jayhawk manages to kick Da La Rosa off! Da La Rosa jumps back into Jayhawk's guard. Jayhawk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Da La Rosa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da La Rosa pushes down on Jayhawk's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jayhawk trying to control but Da La Rosa postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jayhawk drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Da La Rosa working a defensive guard here.
Da La Rosa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jayhawk trying to stand up but can't free himself from Da La Rosa's guard. Jayhawk thows a big elbow that misses. Jayhawk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jayhawk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Da La Rosa keeping full guard, as Jayhawk tries to pass. Jayhawk trying to control the position from guard on top but Da La Rosa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Da La Rosa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jayhawk is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Da La Rosa. Da La Rosa looking for a sweep but Jayhawk has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jayhawk avoids the attempt from Da La Rosa to control. Da La Rosa manages to regain half guard. Good work. Jayhawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da La Rosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Da La Rosa is looking to improve his position.
Da La Rosa actively working from the bottom here. Da La Rosa is breathing heavily. Jayhawk throwing shots but Da La Rosa is blocking nicely. Da La Rosa looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Jayhawk blocks the strikes from Da La Rosa.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jayhawk instigates a clinch. Jayhawk tries for a takedown. No joy.
Come on Da La Rosa - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jayhawk turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jayhawk manages to end up in side control. Jayhawk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jayhawk working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jayhawk tries to advance to mount but Da La Rosa denies him. Da La Rosa manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jayhawk's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Da La Rosa tries to roll over but Jayhawk keeps him under control. Da La Rosa is pressing down on Jayhawk's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Da La Rosa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jayhawk stands up from Da La Rosa's guard - Jayhawk perhaps looking for a knockout. Da La Rosa tries for a takedown but Jayhawk circles away easily and Jayhawk counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jayhawk. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Da La Rosa trying to control the position.
Da La Rosa wants to sweep but no luck. Jayhawk wanted to stand there but Da La Rosa had control of the position. Jayhawk advances position into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Jayhawk dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Da La Rosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jayhawk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Da La Rosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jayhawk keeps working. Jayhawk is looking to regain half guard here but Da La Rosa keeps moving and retains side control. Da La Rosa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jayhawk keeps working. Jayhawk manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Jayhawk is trying to maintain the position but Da La Rosa is very close to passing his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Da La Rosa connects with a nice short shot to Jayhawk's temple. Jayhawk is staying active underneath Da La Rosa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Jayhawk tries to roll over but Da La Rosa keeps him under control. Da La Rosa stands up and beckons Jayhawk to join him on the feet. Da La Rosa moves into the clinch successfully.
Jayhawk goes for a takedown in the clinch but Da La Rosa prevents it.
Da La Rosa drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Da La Rosa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jayhawk just stands there and leans against the cage. Jayhawk pressing his opponent against the cage. Jayhawk receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Da La Rosa trying to stall but Jayhawk improves his position.
A bit of stalling here from Jayhawk.

Jayhawk is breathing heavily. Jayhawk pushes down on Da La Rosa's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jayhawk wants to take a breather but Da La Rosa is having none of it. Jayhawk missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Da La Rosa moves into full guard.
Jayhawk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Da La Rosa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jayhawk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Da La Rosa keeping moving, preventing Jayhawk from controlling successfully. Da La Rosa controls Jayhawk momentarily but Jayhawk frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Da La Rosa pushes a forearm under Jayhawk's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jayhawk is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
