Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Ranson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Drysdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Ranson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Drysdale!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ranson throws a half hearted mid kick.

Ranson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drysdale, pushing him back against the cage.
Ranson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Drysdale pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Ranson works on Drysdale's body with a couple of short punches.
Drysdale with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ranson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Ranson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Drysdale or not.

Ranson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Drysdale to stand up.

Ranson moves in looking to clinch but Drysdale pushes him off.

and Ranson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Drysdale thinking.
Ranson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Drysdale gets caught flat footed, as Ranson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ranson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ranson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ranson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Drysdale hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ranson shoots in and drives through. Drysdale sprawls well.

Drysdale has taken the fight to the clinch.

Drysdale throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ranson blocks it with crossed arms.

and Ranson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ranson thows a big elbow that misses.
Ranson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drysdale swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Drysdale lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ranson!

Ranson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ranson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Drysdale.
Ranson holds on, trying desperately to control.
David Ranson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
