Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamid Karzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hamid Karzai! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karzai looks for a takedown but Santos sprawls well. Karzai checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Karzai feints and as Santos raises his hands in defense, Karzai changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Santos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Karzai postures up in Santos's guard and throws a big left but Santos blocks it. Karzai has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Santos pushes Karzai off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Santos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Karzai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Karzai clinches with his opponent.

Karzai has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Santos is proving hard to escape from. Karzai trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karzai throwing strikes from guard but Santos blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karzai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard. Karzai wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving. Santos is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Karzai is looking to advance position but Santos won't allow it. Karzai throwing shots but Santos is blocking nicely. Santos is trying to stand back up but Karzai is controlling him
Karzai misses with a head shot. Santos uses the momentum to regain guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santos keeping moving, preventing Karzai from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karzai's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Karzai's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Karzai gets a double leg takedown into Santos's guard. Karzai in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Karzai thows a big elbow that misses. Karzai decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Santos, up you get! Karzai has a takedown stuffed. Daniel Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamid Karzai. Santos buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karzai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Karzai somewhat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karzai checks a low kick from Santos. Karzai showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Santos.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Santos will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Karzai not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Karzai throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Karzai wants to take a breather but Santos is having none of it. Santos kicks off Karzai and gets to his feet. Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Karzai throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Karzai is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Santos throws a low kick but Karzai avoids it.

Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Karzai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Santos circles away from the clinch attempt.
Karzai shoots in and drives through. Santos sprawls well. Daniel Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamid Karzai. A bone on bone clash there as Karzai blocks the leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santos dives in and grabs Karzai's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karzai pushes down on Santos's head and hops out. Karzai fails to land the takedown. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos misses with a low kick. Santos stuffs the takedown. Karzai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Santos swivels and escapes.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Hamid Karzai. I think Karzai has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
