Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ralph Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Scull!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scull moves to clinch but Gracie breaks away

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Scull keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scull pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet.

and Gracie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scull's guard.
Scull is trying to keep Gracie in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Scull for as long as he can get away with.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gracie prevents Scull from getting the reversal.

Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Scull because Gracie loaded up on that one.
Gracie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Scull manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Scull can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Scull keeps moving.

Scull really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ralph Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Scull is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ralph Gracie has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Scull tries to clinch but Gracie moves away
and Gracie counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie thuds his right hand into Scull's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Scull looks to clinch
and Gracie counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gracie misses the shot to the body.
Jason Scull is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gracie catches Scull with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Scull's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Gracie fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Scull looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Scull avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ralph Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ground and pound from Gracie seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scull with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Scull manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Scull takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gracie distracts Scull with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
