Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brenno Penna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominickoy Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penna comes to the cage accompanied by APOCALYPSE NOW. The crowd seem to be enjoying Maia's choice of entrance music: techno viking. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penna but Penna pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Penna looking to score a takedown here. Maia is defending well but Penna drives through and ends up in Maia's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Penna throws a strike but Maia rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Penna escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Penna shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maia as he jumps to the side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Penna.

Penna looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maia is pressing down on Penna's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Maia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Penna won't allow Maia to pass to mount.
Penna is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Maia tries to free his leg and advance position but Penna is retaining full guard.

Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penna swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penna has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maia has managed to get both his arms back between Penna's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Penna is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maia is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
