Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Slipknot - Surfacing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bailey fails to land the takedown. Ramirez drives through with a takedown into guard. Ramirez showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramirez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bailey looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ramirez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Bailey throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez trying to control the position from guard on top but Bailey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bailey tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bailey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ramirez sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ramirez slips nicely into half guard. Bailey is trying to maintain the position but Ramirez is very close to passing his half guard. Ramirez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ramirez controlling from mount. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bailey is breathing heavily. Ramirez looking to control and managing it successfully. Bailey is trying desperately to improve position. Bailey is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. A nice elbow there by Ramirez. Ramirez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bailey looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey is trying to maintain the position but Ramirez is very close to passing his half guard. Ramirez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ramirez gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Ramirez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bailey. Bailey thuds his shin into the meat of Ramirez's side. Bailey misses with a takedown attempt and Ramirez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bailey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ramirez is working away from the top position though. Bailey tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Bailey is doing well to control the position and prevent Ramirez from advancing to side control. Ramirez is trying to work for a kimura but Bailey is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bailey works his way to full guard. Good work. Ramirez pushing down on Bailey's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Bailey is defending well. Bailey wants to get back to full guard. Ramirez wants to take a breather but Bailey is having none of it. Bailey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ramirez. Bailey is looking to control Ramirez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bailey avoid being mounted? Bailey throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Bailey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramirez circles away. Nice sprawl there from Ramirez as Bailey shoots in. Ramirez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bailey looking to control.

Ramirez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramirez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ramirez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bailey is trying to control the position but Ramirez postures up. Ramirez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bailey Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ramirez's back instead. Ramirez tries to roll but Bailey sticks to his back.
Ramirez has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bailey. Bailey gets his hands free as Ramirez looks to control. Ramirez is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ramirez tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Ramirez is trying to stand but he's just given Bailey his back. Ramirez tries to escape the position.

Ramirez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Bailey tries to reverse the position but Ramirez maintains control. Ramirez controlling his opponent. A close second round but Anthony Ramirez will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bailey is looking to take a break and control but Ramirez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bailey is really struggling to control Ramirez but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bailey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ramirez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bailey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ramirez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bailey! Ramirez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Bailey wants to control but Ramirez is having none of it. Ramirez tries to control but Bailey wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bailey is looking to get to half guard. Ramirez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bailey is now in Ramirez's guard. A big mistake from Ramirez there, giving up the dominant position! Micheal Bailey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bailey wants to get up but he can't break Ramirez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ramirez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ramirez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bailey drops back looking for a leg! Ramirez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ramirez manages to kick Bailey off! Bailey jumps back into Ramirez's guard. Ramirez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bailey is fighting to break Ramirez's control of his arms but Ramirez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Micheal Bailey. I think Ramirez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
