The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heister fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Heister looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.
Monroe Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Heister swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Heister but Heister pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jackson misses with a combination
and Heister counters with a two punch combo.
Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Heister looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Heister can do anything to dispel that myth.

Heister thows a body kick. Jackson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Nice sprawl there from Heister as Jackson shoots in.

Heister wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling the position.

Heister must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Heister has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Jackson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Heister is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Jackson pulls down on the head and he's put Heister to sleep! This one is all over!
