The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters tries to clinch and Rodriquez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Rodriquez tries to free his leg and advance position but Peters is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodriquez throwing strikes but missing. Peters is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Peters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rodriquez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Peters. Peters not doing much here.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Peters cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Peters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rodriquez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rodriquez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peters dives on top into guard. Rodriquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Rodriquez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rodriquez has Peters in his guard. Peters stays in close to Rodriquez's body and controls the position. Cleto Rodriquez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
