Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Payette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payette comes to the cage accompanied by Sick Puppies- Youre Going Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charles Payette ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steven Stone! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone shoots in for a takedown but Payette shows good takedown defense. Charles Payette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stone tries for a takedown but Payette sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Payette tries to close the distance and clinch but Stone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Payette tries to clinch up. Payette wants to clinch. Payette pushes Stone up against the cage in a clinch. Stone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Payette gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Charles Payette has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Stone. Payette is looking to break free of the clinch but Stone has double underhooks. Payette throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Stones head. Payette taking a breather. Payette is pressed up against the cage. Stone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Payette down to the mat. Payette avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Payette avoids it really well and circles away. Stone takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A right-left combo lands from Payette . Stone fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Payette is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Payette circles away and we're back to standing. Payette really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Payette moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off. Stone keeps the fight on the outside. Payette fails in his attempt to clinch. Stone shoots in and gets a takedown into Payette 's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Payette wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone looking to pass the guard. Stone trying to stand up but can't free himself from Payette 's guard. Payette escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Payette looking to control.
Stone stops Payette from standing up. Stone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Payette is breathing heavily. Stone throws a strike but Payette rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Payette loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payette won't allow Stone to sweep him here. Payette trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom. Stone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Payette is controlling him. Payette being controlled here momentarily. Stone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payette . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Payette can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Payette is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone has control of Payette 's left arm, preventing Payette from doing any damage. Stone is trying to control the position but Payette postures up.
Steven Stone has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Stone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Payette tries to bench press Stone off him but Stone keeps the position. Payette takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Stone stands up and we're back to a striking position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Steven Stone will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Payette tries to clinch up and Stone counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Payette has hold of Stone's hands but Stone slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Stone working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Payette looks like he's trying to stand up.
Steven Stone has got the better of the ground game so far. Stone thows a huge punch but Payette dodges it nicely.
Stone throws a strike but Payette avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Stone is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Stone throws a strike but Payette rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Payette defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payette trying to control the position from guard on top but Stone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stone looking for subs off his back but Payette has passed one foot through into half guard.
Stone keeping hold of Payette 's head, controlling as best he can. Stone trying to hold on to Payette 's head to control him but Payette postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Payette sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stone defending well though. Payette is looking for a kimura but Stone is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Payette to get the leverage. Stone trying to control here.
Payette trying to advance position but Stone counters by regaining guard. Stone is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Payette preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone is pulling down on Payette 's head to control his posture. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Steven Stone has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Stone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Stone with a couple of short strikes. Payette is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stone landing strikes, looking to finish! Stone punishing his opponent with strikes. BOOM! Stone connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Payette is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Payette can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Oh Payette is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Stone putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Stone postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Payette badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Stone around the waist but Stone pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Stone is the winner by TKO! Stone jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
