Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Mantegna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cadwallader Gutkus!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Mantegna.
Gutkus moves out of range as Mantegna throws a body kick.
Mantegna keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mantegna looks to score with a jab to the body but Gutkus is just out of range.
Gutkus fails with the takedown.
Gutkus tries to clinch up but Mantegna circles away and keeps his distance.
Gutkus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mantegna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mantegna lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Cadwallader Gutkus has been cut.
Mantegna with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mantegna missing with a left hand there. Gutkus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gutkus. Mantegna does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gutkus has a takedown stuffed.
Gutkus's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mantegna connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gutkus scrambles back to his feet.
Mantegna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gutkus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mantegna lands a leg kick that knocks Gutkus off balance momentarily.
Gutkus looks gassed!
Mantegna sends Gutkus crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mantegna is motioning to the referee to let Gutkus up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Gutkus is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gutkus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mantegna.
Gutkus is still on wobbly legs! Can Mantegna finish him?
Mantegna lands a jab to Gutkus's midsection.
Gutkus seems to have recovered his senses.
Gutkus backs away from a small jab...but Mantegna lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Gutkus crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Mantegna with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Tony Mantegna!
