Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matija Rakic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee asks Kerr politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kerr prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kerr swings around for an armbar but Rakic sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kerr's guard.

Kerr looking to sit in guard and control but Rakic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rakic is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kerr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rakic on the ground.

Rakic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kerr sprawls well initially but Rakic persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rakic should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rakic is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

and Kerr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rakic!
Rakic is desperately trying to improve his position but Kerr has a good base and remains in mount.

Matija Rakic has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kerr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rakic is pushing down on Kerr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kerr is fighting to maintain full guard but Rakic has managed to sneak the leg through.

Matija Rakic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rakic has hold of Kerr's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kerr seems comfortable defending it but Rakic has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kerr is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kerr is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Rakic couldn't care less - he's delighted!
