The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Proctor with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kronkite counters with a nice double leg into side control. Proctor won't be happy with that.
Proctor parries the strikes from Kronkite easily there. Kronkite is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Proctor to escape.
The ground and pound from Kronkite seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Proctor manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Proctor is trying to control the action in half guard but Kronkite is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Proctor is trying to control. Kronkite wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Proctor is looking for a kimura but Kronkite is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Proctor to get the leverage.

Proctor is looking to take a break and control but Kronkite is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kronkite is in trouble now - Proctor has advanced to mount!
Kronkite has given up his back here. Will Proctor look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Proctor is looking for the choke from the back position but Kronkite is controlling his hands well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kronkite looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Kronkite manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Proctor doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kronkite counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Proctor's guard now.
Proctor is looking to stand up but Kronkite isn't so interested in that idea.

Kronkite throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Proctor works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kronkite looking to sit in guard and control but Proctor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Proctor trying to control but Kronkite is working from the bottom.
Kronkite is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Proctor drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Proctor seems to have locked his on tight now - Kronkite screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Proctor, as he picks up the win!
