Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Smalls! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Riley! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smalls throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riley. Smalls fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Riley avoids it really well and circles away. Riley closes the distance and pushes Smalls back into the cage. Riley with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Riley throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smalls blocks it with crossed arms. Riley misses with a knee to the head. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Riley prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jackson Riley. Smalls throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riley. Riley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smalls manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Smalls takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Smalls shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Riley's guard. Smalls got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smalls has managed to get both his arms back between Riley's legs - danger averted. Smalls is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Smalls controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Smalls trying to control the position from guard on top but Riley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Riley keeping full guard, as Smalls tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riley is looking for a triangle but Smalls pushes his legs off easily.
Riley looks gassed! Smalls slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Smalls tries for a kimura but Riley is defending well. Smalls has hold of Riley's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Riley tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Smalls cranks the arm and Riley screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Riley, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
