Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazu Nakamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Kawajiri! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawajiri shoots and misses and Nakamura counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nakamura slips nicely into half guard. Nakamura looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Nakamura passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kawajiri! Kawajiri is trying to escape the mount but Nakamura keeps good control and instead manages to take Kawajiri's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kawajiri tries to break free.
Nakamura controlling the position well here. Kawajiri rolled but Nakamura kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of a pause in the action here. Nakamura controlling the positon. Nakamura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kawajiri for as long as he can get away with. Kawajiri trying to control the hands but Nakamura breaks the grip. Nakamura has the hooks in. Kawajiri is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nakamura has got one arm under Kawajiri's chin. This could be trouble... Kawajiri trying to control the other hand but Nakamura gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Kawajiri has tapped out! The fight is over!
