Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sad Sak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vasya Smert!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sak swings widly with a right hand

and Smert counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smert.

Smert drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smert jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sak has his hands on Smert's head, controlling the position.

Sak working for a triangle but Smert defends it easily.
Smert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Smert avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sak seems keen to control Smert's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sak looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smert can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sak has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Smert throwing strikes but missing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smert doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smert manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Smert working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sak is pulling down on Smert's head. It's preventing any offense from Smert, at least for the moment.

Sak is looking for a triangle but Smert pushes his legs off easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sak holds on and takes a little breather.

Sak had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smert defends it easily.
Smert wants to control from the top but Sak keeps moving.

Sak pushes a forearm under Smert's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smert is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
