PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huima Kostaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kostaja looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Kostaja persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Kostaja ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.

Kostaja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Kostaja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kostaja shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Kostaja keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones is looking to wear down Kostaja with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

and Kostaja counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Kostaja has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Jones.

Jones has left one of his arms exposed and Kostaja doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Jones screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
