Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and First Second (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). First Second will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Riggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, First Second!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Second is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Riggins's half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Second is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Riggins to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Riggins wants to stand up but Second is controlling him.

Second drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Riggins dives on top into guard.

Second throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Second looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Riggins passes into side control.

Riggins decides to stand back up. Riggins steps back and let's Second get back to his feet.
Rob Riggins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Second tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Riggins swivels and escapes.
Riggins tries to clinch up.
Second tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Riggins throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Second blocks it with crossed arms.
Riggins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Second up against the cage.

Second is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Riggins can't fight it off and eventually Second manages to take the fight to the floor. Riggins looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Riggins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Second is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Second trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Riggins manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Second wants to hit a switch here but Riggins passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Second there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Riggins controlling the pace for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Second has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Riggins's lack of action.

Second looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Riggins seems content to control.
It looks like Riggins is going to stand back up.
Second regains full guard. Nicely done.

Second working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riggins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riggins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Second working for a triangle but Riggins defends it easily.

Riggins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Second gets tackled into the cage by Riggins. Riggins maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but First Second will probably get the nod.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Second.
Riggins tries to clinch up.
Riggins doesn't manage to clinch there - Second circles away.

Riggins darts in and clinches Second up against the cage.
Second goes for a takedown attempt but Riggins pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Riggins closes the distance and clinches.
Riggins tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Second blocks an elbow strike.
Riggins gets underhooks to prevent Second's takedown attempt.
Rob Riggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of First Second.

Second is working for takedown but Riggins is calmly controlling the position for now.
Riggins lands an elbow inside.
The referee is keeping an eye on Riggins - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Second changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Riggins fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Second circles away from the clinch attempt.
Riggins wants to clinch up but Second keeps it at a distance.

Riggins moves into range and clinches up with Second.
Riggins misses with a knee to the head.

It looks like First Second has been cut.
Riggins tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Second tries to score a body lock takedown but Riggins shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Riggins stops a takedown attempt from Second.

Riggins scores with a shot to the side of Second's head.
Riggins lands an elbow just above Second 's eye.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Riggins is pressed up against the cage. Second has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Riggins down to the mat. Riggins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Riggins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Second swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Second is working for takedown but Riggins is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rob Riggins has scored more points in the clinch so far.

Second takes a knee right on the jaw!


Second is rocked!
Riggins lands a big knee to the head and Second goes down! Riggins pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
