Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Thorburn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luis Garcia! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorburn gets the takedown into side control. Thorburn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Garcia to his feet. Thorburn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Thorburn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Thorburn stands up and beckons Garcia to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A head kick misses from Thorburn. Thorburn is looking to clinch. Garcia moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Garcia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thorburn walks into a straight right hand from Garcia. Thorburn shoots in but Garcia avoids the takedown attempt easily. Garcia works the jab nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thorburn scores a takedown into full mount! Thorburn looking to finish with strikes here!
Thorburn looking to ground and pound but Garcia is blocking nicely. Garcia's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Thorburn controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia wants to try and get back to his feet. Thorburn raining down hammerfists from mount. Thorburn is working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia frees his head quite easily.
Thorburn throws some wild stikes that Garcia manages to avoid easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorburn is in the full mount, landing strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thorburn has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Garcia's face.
Thorburn content just to control the position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thorburn looking for a guillotine from mount but Garcia is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chad Thorburn will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Garcia counters with a two punch combo. Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Garcia! This one is all over!
