Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moa lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

James tries to keep at a distance but Moa has taken the fight into the clinch.

James gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
James's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
It looks like James might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Justin James wasn't active enough on the ground.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
Some Moa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - James lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Moa is breathing heavily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
James working the ground and pound effectively.
James controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin James dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Moa throws a combination that misses

and James counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by James.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
James slows the pace down.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

James has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Moa is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. James yanks on the arm and Moa is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by James.
