Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elizondo Tacos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taeko Yataki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yataki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jingle bells. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elizondo Tacos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Taeko Yataki!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yataki has his takedown stuffed
and Tacos counters with a thumping low kick.

Yataki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tacos's half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Tacos tries to get to full guard but Yataki has control of the leg.

Yataki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tacos is just riding it out for now. Yataki eventually gives up the hold.

Yataki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tacos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yataki thows a big elbow that misses.
Tacos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yataki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tacos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tacos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yataki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tacos wants to pass to mount but Yataki is defending the position.
Tacos is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Yataki lands a big shot there that rocks Tacos but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tacos is in a horrible position here. Yataki smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Tacos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Yataki lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Yataki looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee warns Tacos that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Tacos is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tacos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tacos bucks Yataki off and manages to get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taeko Yataki dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Yataki throws a body punch but Tacos moves out of range.
Yataki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tacos is fending him off so far but Yataki persists. Nope, Tacos circles away and we're back to standing.
Yataki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tacos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yataki somewhat.

Elizondo Tacos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taeko Yataki.
Yataki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Tacos misses with a body kick.
Yataki misses with a head kick.
Tacos misses with a low kick as Yataki jumps back.
Tacos bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Tacos tries to work over Yataki's front leg with a kick but Yataki checks it.
Yataki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tacos sprawls well. Tacos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yataki gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yataki is defended easily by Tacos.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tacos leaves Yataki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tacos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Yataki is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Tacos has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Yataki is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tacos yanks on the arm and Yataki is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tacos.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Elizondo Tacos!
