Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamapi Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kushin Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ikenai Tayou. Kushin Takahashi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yamapi Chan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kushin Takahashi! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chan shoots in looking for a takedown but Takahashi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Takahashi misses with a takedown attempt - Chan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Chan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chan wants it to stay on the feet. Takahashi looks for a takedown but Chan sprawls well. Yamapi Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kushin Takahashi. Chan dives in and grabs Takahashi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Takahashi pushes down on Chan's head and hops out. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Horrible takedown by Takahashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Chan which made him look bad. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chan. Chan with a lazy takedown attempt and Takahashi counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chan is looking for a sweep. Takahashi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chan is breathing heavily. Takahashi is working for a kimura but Chan is defending it quite comfortably.

Takahashi eventually gives up the hold. Takahashi is thwarting Chan's attempts to control the position. Takahashi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takahashi. Takahashi seems to be looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Takahashi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takahashi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takahashi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Takahashi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Chan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takahashi! Takahashi is desperately trying to improve his position but Chan has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Takahashi is looking to escape. Takahashi blocking the ground and pound. Chan with a couple of short strikes. Chan looking to secure an arm triangle but Takahashi defends it well. Chan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Takahashi is looking to improve his position but Chan isn't that keen on the idea. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chan looking to control but Takahashi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takahashi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Takahashi tries to roll over but Chan keeps him under control. Chan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takahashi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chan tries to avoid it but Takahashi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chan to the ground. Chan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Takahashi dives in and grabs Chan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chan pushes down on Takahashi's head and hops out. Chan looks for a takedown but Takahashi sprawls well. Chan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takahashi swivels and escapes. Takahashi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Takahashi shoots in but no luck this time. Takahashi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Chan shoots in but Takahashi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
