Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chad Carlson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Speer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Prayer. Tom Speer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chad Carlson Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Speer! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlson Jr shoots in for a double leg but Speer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Carlson Jr scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Carlson Jr lands with a punch from half guard. Speer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Carlson Jr seems to be working for a kimura but Speer defends the submission attempt. Carlson Jr seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carlson Jr is looking to take a break and control but Speer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Speer looks gassed! Carlson Jr winds up and cracks Speer with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Carlson Jr missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carlson Jr takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Speer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Carlson Jr scores with a couple of nice shots. Carlson Jr stands up and beckons Speer to join him on the feet. Carlson Jr throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Speer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Speer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carlson Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Carlson Jr scoring with strikes to the body and head. Carlson Jr is figuring out what he wants to do next. Carlson Jr wants to pass to mount but Speer is defending the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Carlson Jr missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carlson Jr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Speer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Carlson Jr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speer is just riding it out for now. Carlson Jr eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson Jr is looking to take a break and control but Speer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carlson Jr escapes and gets back to his feet. Carlson Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carlson Jr sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson Jr advances to half guard. Carlson Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carlson Jr in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Speer tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Carlson Jr!
