Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panos Kirifidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stewart comes to the ring accompanied by Celly cel - Its Goin Down Tonight . Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Panos Kirifidis!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirifidis tries for a takedown but Stewart circles away easily

and Stewart counters with a takedown into side control.
Stewart landing strikes.
Kirifidis tries to buck Stewart off but Stewart is having none of it.
Stewart misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Stewart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kirifidis on the ground.

Kirifidis drops back looking for a leg! Stewart is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stewart manages to kick Kirifidis off! Kirifidis jumps back into Stewart's guard.

Kirifidis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kirifidis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kirifidis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kirifidis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stewart defends it well.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Stewart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kirifidis holds on and takes a little breather.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Panos Kirifidis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Donald Stewart dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Stewart throws a jab but it's blocked by Kirifidis.
Kirifidis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stewart as he jumps to the side.
Stewart misses with an uppercut. Kirifidis saw that one coming.
Kirifidis fails with a takedown attempt.
Kirifidis shoots in looking for a takedown. Stewart tries to sprawl out of it but Kirifidis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stewart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Donald Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Panos Kirifidis.
Stewart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kirifidis manages to avoid it.

Kirifidis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kirifidis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kirifidis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kirifidis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Stewart is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kirifidis is controlling him.
Kirifidis won't allow Stewart to sweep him here.

Stewart scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Stewart counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stewart.
