Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derreck Haven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bass Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haven comes to the cage accompanied by Party Rock. Rutten has chosen Pride as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haven clinches. Rutten can't get the takedown.
Haven looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Haven escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Haven tries for a takedown but Rutten sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Haven lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rutten circles away quickly and effectively. Haven throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Bass Rutten has been cut. Horrible takedown by Rutten or perhaps it was just good defense by Haven which made him look bad. Haven pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Haven shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rutten's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rutten has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Haven wants to stand but Rutten is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haven wants to control from the top but Rutten keeps moving. Haven is looking to work some ground and pound but Rutten has wrist control. Rutten avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Haven trying to control but Rutten is working from the bottom. Rutten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Haven wants to control from the top but Rutten keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Derreck Haven wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Haven tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rutten paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rutten misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Derreck Haven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bass Rutten. Rutten tries to sprawl but Haven drives through with a takedown into half guard. Haven is keen to just control but Rutten is a slippery customer. Rutten trying to control from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Derreck Haven. Rutten shoots in looking for a takedown but Haven manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rutten's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Haven throws a head kick that half lands.

Haven shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Haven was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Haven content just to control the position here. Haven looking to control but Rutten is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rutten wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Haven tries to keep control of the position but Rutten is staying busy. Rutten is in bad spot here.
Haven will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rutten is breathing heavily. Haven trying to control momentarily.
Haven is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rutten defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Haven's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

This one could be all over! But no, Rutten has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Will Haven go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Rutten is trying hard to land a takedown here. Haven sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Haven shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rutten as he jumps to the side. Haven throws a head kick that Rutten semi-blocks.

Derreck Haven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rutten tries to get to full guard but Haven has control of the leg. Haven slows the pace down in half guard. Rutten wants to get back to full guard. Rutten takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Haven in particular looking to stall. Rutten is refusing to be controlled, as Haven sits in half guard.
Derreck Haven has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Rutten tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Haven swivels and escapes. Haven closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rutten circles away. Haven drives through and clinches with Rutten against the cage.

Haven avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Derreck Haven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bass Rutten. Haven closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Haven lands in his opponent's guard. Haven landing with the ground and pound. Haven forces his way into half guard. Haven is trying to work for a kimura but Rutten is defending well.

Rutten wants to get back to full guard but Haven has passed into side control. Haven decides to stand back up. Haven steps back and let's Rutten get back to his feet. Rutten looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Haven is fending him off so far but Rutten persists. Nope, Haven circles away and we're back to standing. Haven lands a head kick!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutten stuffs the takedown. Bass Rutten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rutten shoots in and bounces Haven off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rutten tries to free his leg and advance position but Haven is retaining full guard. Haven keeping moving, preventing Rutten from controlling successfully. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rutten stays in close to Haven's body and controls the position. Derreck Haven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Haven manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rutten manages to get himself to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Derreck Haven showed his dominance in that final round. Well Haven has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
