Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clovis Alfred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitsuyo Maeda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitsuyo Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clovis Alfred!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda slaps away a takedown attempt from Alfred, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Maeda takes the fight into the clinch.
Maeda lands a shot to the body.
Maeda lands a nice uppercut.
Maeda lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Maeda throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Alfreds head.
Maeda stalling the fight.
Maeda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maeda looks to land a right hand but Alfred moved out of range.
Alfred moves forwards but Maeda connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Alfred tries for a takedown but Maeda circles away easily
and Maeda counters with a right hand to the body.
Maeda keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Alfred shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maeda as he jumps to the side.
Mitsuyo Maeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clovis Alfred.

Maeda misses with a straight right.
Alfred shoots and misses
and Maeda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alfred shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maeda throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alfred has his takedown stuffed
and Maeda cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Maeda misses with a series of wild punches.
Alfred gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Maeda counters with a series of strikes. Alfred will be more careful next time no doubt.

Maeda forces Alfred back against the cage and clinches.
Maeda lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Maeda gets underhooks to prevent Alfred's takedown attempt.

enabling Maeda to counter with a crisp jab.
Alfred is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maeda misses with a series of wild punches.
Maeda moves into the clinch successfully.
Maeda lands an uppercut.
Alfred tries a body shot but Maeda blocks it.

Alfred's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Alfred has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Maeda avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Maeda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alfred gets tackled into the cage by Maeda. Maeda maintains the clinch.
Maeda comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Maeda gets through Alfred's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Alfred tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Maeda prevents a body shot from Alfred.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Maeda.
Maeda lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Maeda lands with a left to the head.
Alfred is still on wobbly legs! Can Maeda finish him?
Still in the clinch, Maeda scores with a nice short uppercut.
A right hand to the body from Maeda.
Alfred with a knee to the head.
Alfred seems to have recovered his senses.
Alfred wants a takedown but no success here.
Maeda throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Maeda is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

A short body shot lands from Maeda as the two fighters clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maeda lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Alfred takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Alfred on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Maeda's jab looks to have found its range, popping Alfred under the eye.
Alfred misses with a takedown
and Maeda counters with a huge left! Alfred is in big trouble! He's backing up but Maeda isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Alfred from any more damage. A dominating finish by Maeda!
