PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isiah Acer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcolm Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acer comes into the arena with Mad at Gravity- Burn blaring out of the sound system. Lancaster has chosen Bed Intruder as his entrance music. Malcolm Lancaster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isiah Acer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malcolm Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acer thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lancaster misses with a double jab
and Lancaster takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Lancaster swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lancaster bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acer manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Acer stands up and beckons Lancaster to join him on the feet.
Lancaster throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Acer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Acer scores with a nice head shot.
Malcolm Lancaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A combination from Lancaster does no damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lancaster throws out the jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Acer, as that shot connected.
Acer shoots in looking for a takedown. Lancaster tries to sprawl out of it but Acer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lancaster manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lancaster wants to slow Acer down by chopping away at his legs.
Acer ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lancaster swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jab by Acer.
Lancaster just misses with a punch to the body.
Lancaster shoots in looking for a takedown. Acer tries to sprawl out of it but Lancaster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Acer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Acer counters with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Acer slips a jab and a cross from Lancaster.
Lancaster throws a nice looking combination but Acer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Acer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lancaster.
The fighters circling - Lancaster throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lancaster's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Acer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lancaster scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lancaster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lancaster takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lancaster misses with a double jab
and Acer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lancaster thinking.
Lancaster looks gassed!
Lancaster shoots and misses
and Acer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Acer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Acer wants it to stay on the feet.
Isiah Acer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malcolm Lancaster.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Acer.
A jab from Acer does it's job there.
Acer is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Acer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Acer looking for a guillotine from mount but Lancaster is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Acer has hold of Lancaster's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lancaster manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Acer tries to control but Lancaster wriggling away.
Lancaster tries to lock up and control but Acer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lancaster has left one of his arms exposed and Acer doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Lancaster screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Isiah Acer!
