Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brock Lesnar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vetaliy Kleva! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kleva is looking to clinch. Vetaliy Kleva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesnar drives through with a takedown into guard. Lesnar controlling from the top position. Lesnar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lesnar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kleva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lesnar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kleva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lesnar has Kleva in his guard. Lesnar pulls Kleva in close to prevent any damage. Lesnar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kleva is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kleva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lesnar works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kleva trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lesnar controlling Kleva's posture. Kleva won't allow Lesnar to sweep him here. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kleva is looking to stand up but Lesnar won't let him. Lesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lesnar tries to get out of the position. Lesnar has control of Kleva's left arm, preventing Kleva from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brock Lesnar. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lesnar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lesnar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kleva napping and manages to drive through into side control! Lesnar throws an elbow but Kleva slips to the side and avoids it well. Lesnar scoring with punches and elbows. Lesnar scoring with punches and elbows. Kleva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lesnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kleva on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kleva parries the strikes from Lesnar easily there. Lesnar is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kleva to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lesnar working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lesnar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kleva, who protects the arm well. Lesnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lesnar is chipping away with strikes.
Lesnar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Lesnar works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kleva keeps working. Nice strikes from Lesnar there. Lesnar scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lesnar controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lesnar wants to control but Kleva is keeping him busy. Lesnar has an Americana. Kleva didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lesnar is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lesnar hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
