Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sancho Paredes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paredes comes into the arena with Pearl Jam - Alive blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramon Hernandez! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Paredes. Hernandez slips a straight right by Paredes. Hernandez tries to clinch and Paredes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hernandez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Paredes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hernandez wants to stall.
Hernandez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Paredes breaks the clinch.
Paredes scores with a shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Paredes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Paredes motions for Hernandez to come forward. Paredes throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Paredes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hernandez. Hernandez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. A cross from Paredes lands. Paredes misses with an uppercut. Hernandez saw that one coming. Paredes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Paredes swings widly with a right hand
and Hernandez counters with a series of strikes. Paredes will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Paredes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Paredes circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Paredes to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hernandez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Paredes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Paredes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hernandez has time to react. Paredes gets in close and instigates a clinch. Paredes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Paredes throws a hook to the side of Hernandez's head but Hernandez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hernandez wants to clinch and Paredes counters with a left to the body. Hernandez wants to clinch but Paredes slips to the side and Paredes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Paredes scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Paredes sizes up Hernandez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Paredes lands with an overhand left. Hernandez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Paredes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paredes misses with a series of wild punches.
Paredes clinches up with Hernandez and pushes him back against the cage. Paredes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hernandez wants to clinch up but Paredes keeps it at a distance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hernandez with a poor takedown and Paredes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sancho Paredes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Hernandez. Hernandez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Paredes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hernandez throws a leg kick but Paredes sees it coming and moves out of range. Jab, jab by Paredes - just one landing. Hernandez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Paredes counters with a nice uppercut. Some bone on bone action there as Hernandez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hernandez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Paredes scores with a three punch combo!
Hernandez fails with the takedown letting Paredes counter with a right hand. Sancho Paredes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Hernandez. Paredes rushes Hernandez and presses him up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paredes jumps guard and drags Hernandez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hernandez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Paredes looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Paredes pulls Hernandez in close to his closed guard and prevents Hernandez from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paredes is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Hernandez is working an open guard so Paredes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paredes rushes Hernandez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Hernandez wants to get back to striking at distance but Paredes won't allow it.

Paredes gets a takedown into half guard. Hernandez trying to get back to full guard but Paredes takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Paredes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hernandez is now in Paredes's guard. A big mistake from Paredes there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hernandez trying to control the position from guard on top but Paredes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Paredes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paredes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sancho Paredes dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Hernandez tries to bum rush Paredes with a series of wild strikes but Paredes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hernandez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hernandez lands with a light punch inside. Hernandez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Paredes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hernandez closes the distance looking to clinch and Paredes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Paredes cracks Hernandez with a right hand to the side of the head. A head kick misses from Hernandez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hernandez wants to clinch but Paredes slips to the side and Paredes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hernandez's guard. Hernandez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paredes manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paredes pulls Hernandez in close to his closed guard and prevents Hernandez from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sancho Paredes wasn't doing enough on the ground. Paredes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hernandez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Paredes fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paredes dips to his left and cracks Hernandez with an uppercut! Hernandez tries to clinch but Paredes is having none of it. Paredes feints and as Hernandez raises his hands in defense, Paredes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paredes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sancho Paredes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hernandez is looking for a triangle but Paredes pushes his legs off easily.
Ramon Hernandez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Paredes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that's the end of the fight! Sancho Paredes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Paredes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
