Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phoenix Sux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Huerto Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Sux.
Rodriguez lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sux throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sux throws out a leg kick but Rodriguez moves out of range and Sux only half commits.
Sux tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Sux throws the kick towards the body but Rodriguez avoids it.
Rodriguez takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Sux lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Huerto Rodriguez has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sux throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sux ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Phoenix Sux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodriguez throws a head kick but Sux moves out of range.
Sux connects with a high kick.
Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sux is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sux fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sux throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rodriguez's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sux tries to clinch up
and Rodriguez counters with a head kick that drops Sux to the mat! Sux scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rodriguez throws a lazy head kick
and Sux counters with a head kick that drops Rodriguez - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sux is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Sux unloads with some shots from mount but Rodriguez bucks and avoids them well.
Sux with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Sux can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rodriguez is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sux jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rodriguez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Sux tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sux has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rodriguez is looking to regain half guard here but Sux keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sux is working to tighten is grip on Rodriguez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rodriguez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sux is really squeezing tight and eventually Rodriguez passes out! Sux breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
