Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gage R (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maku Hiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! R throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hiro sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hiro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. R did well to prevent Hiro getting side control. R wants to control but Hiro passes into side.
R is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. R manages to get back to half guard. R gets full guard. Hiro is pushing down on R's leg trying to pass to half guard. R is fighting to maintain full guard but Hiro has managed to sneak the leg through. R is not content to let Hiro control the position. R tries to get to full guard but Hiro has control of the leg. Hiro not doing much here.
That's one minute gone in the round. R makes his way to full guard. A much better position for R. R looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hiro puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Hiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. R doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hiro. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. R wants to get back to full guard. R makes his way to full guard. A much better position for R. R tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. R is working hard here to advance position. Hiro sitting in guard here, content to control. Hiro trying to control but R is working from the bottom. Hiro tries to free his leg and advance position but R is retaining full guard. Hiro working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. R looking to sweep here. No luck so far. R is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hiro keeps control of the position for the meantime. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hiro is defending against the submission attempts here by R.

R moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. R looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
R is looking for a triangle here but Hiro uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Gage R will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hiro shoots in looking for a takedown but R manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hiro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. R misses with the combination.
Hiro misses with an uppercut. Hiro throws a lazy uppercut
and R counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hiro fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hiro looks for a takedown but R sprawls well. Gage R has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maku Hiro. R scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hiro walks into a stiff left hand from R. R stuffs the takedown attempt from Hiro. Hiro gets slowly back to his feet. R slips under a jab from Hiro. Hiro gets caught flat footed, as R shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hiro looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. R cracks Hiro with a solid left hand. R trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. R works over Hiro with some ground and pound from guard. R trying to control but Hiro is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiro keeping full guard, as R tries to pass. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. R throwing strikes from guard but Hiro blocks nicely. Hiro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. R throws a strike but Hiro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. R bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hiro's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hiro controls R momentarily but R frees himself. R missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. R scores with a decent looking elbow strike. R is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hiro keeping moving, preventing R from controlling successfully. Hiro avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. R throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. R wants to control from the top but Hiro keeps moving. R is really struggling to control Hiro but he's trying to hold on to the position.

R has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. R trying to control but Hiro is working from the bottom. Hiro throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hiro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. R trying to control but Hiro is working from the bottom.
We're going to have a standup here because Gage R wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A punch combination from Hiro misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. R moves away from the strike by Hiro. Maku Hiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hiro needs to keep his hands up - R had a free shot at his head there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gage R dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
R stalks Hiro and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hiro's face. Hiro staggers backwards, shaken. R doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hiro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. R looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. R is looking to regain half guard here but Hiro keeps moving and retains side control. R manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! R not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hiro wants to control but R is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gage R overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. R sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hiro defending well though. Hiro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. R is working away from the top position though. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! R thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. R is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

This has been an exciting period of action! R with good strikes from the mount here! Hiro is bucking up trying to escape but R cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Hiro is rocked! Whack. That's a big, big shot from R! Hiro is out cold! This one is all over!
