Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ha Lo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Benton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kung Fu Fighting. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Benton! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ha Lo! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benton ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lo tries to close the distance and clinch but Benton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Benton throws a right hand that Lo ducks under and follows up with a left that Lo also avoids with ease. Benton looks to land a combination but Lo avoids it well. Benton blocks a head kick by Lo.
Lo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Benton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Benton.
Benton moves out of range of the body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Benton. Lo does a little dance to reset his feet. Benton lands with a hook. Lo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lo is looking to clinch. Benton scores with a one two! Lo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Lo is rocked! Lo lands a head kick. Benton smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Lo is still on wobbly legs! Can Benton finish him? Lo throws the kick towards the body but Benton avoids it. Benton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lo circles away quickly and effectively. Lo seems to have recovered his senses. Benton throws a series of punches but Lo avoids them all with ease. Benton looks to score with a jab to the body but Lo is just out of range. Lo lands with a slapping head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benton lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lo will feel that in the morning. Lo moves out of range of the body kick. Lo throws a wild body kick that Benton sees coming a mile off. Lo misses with a kick to the body.

A head kick from Benton lands but Lo takes it in his stride. Benton is breathing heavily. Lo tries to close the distance and clinch but Benton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lo throws a solid leg kick but Benton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lo. Lo has closed the distance and engaged Benton in a clinch.
Lo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Lo tries to land a knee to the head but Benton blocks with his arms.
Benton decides to pull guard. Lo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Benton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Benton's guard. Lo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Benton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Benton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lo has managed to free his arm - good work. Lo tries to kick Benton off but Benton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Lo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Benton is working for a submission of some sort.
Benton maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lo could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Benton has cracked it and Lo is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Benton!
