Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Maurer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Michaels might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alice In Chains - Man In The Box. Josh Michaels has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Maurer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maurer tries to clinch up
and Michaels counters with a stiff right hand.
Michaels throws a series of punches but Maurer avoids them all with ease.
Maurer throws a sloppy head kick and Michaels moves out of range easily.
Maurer shoots for a double leg takedown but Michaels sprawls well. He's pushed Maurer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A punch combination from Maurer misses.

Maurer looks to land a left hand but Michaels moved out of range nicely.
Randy Maurer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Michaels rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maurer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Michaels catches Maurer with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Michaels will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Michaels connects with a jab.
Maurer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Michaels.
Maurer misses with a takedown attempt - Michaels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Josh Michaels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Maurer.
No joy there for Michaels, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

No luck for Maurer with that takedown attempt.
Maurer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Michaels sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maurer somewhat.
Michaels lands with a good body shot.
Maurer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Michaels stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Maurer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Maurer throws a series of punches but Michaels moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maurer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Maurer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maurer is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

and Michaels counters with a stiff right hand.
Michaels looks to land a combination. Maurer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Michaels stuffs the takedown attempt from Maurer. Maurer gets slowly back to his feet.
Maurer looks gassed!
Maurer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Michaels is fending him off so far but Maurer persists. Nope, Michaels circles away and we're back to standing.
Maurer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Michaels as he avoids it easily.
Michaels keeps the fight on the outside.
Michaels sizes up Maurer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

A jab-cross combination lands for Michaels and sends Maurer crashing to the mat! Michaels follows him down to the mat - Maurer regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Maurer is rocked!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Michaels passes the guard and advances to mount!
Maurer is still in real trouble! Can Michaels finish him?
Oooooh, big shot lands for Michaels! Maurer is hurt baaadly! Michaels is firing away with more strikes - Maurer is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
