Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen j as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Marcus Beast has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Evans wants to clinch up but Beast keeps it at a distance.
Evans misses with a wild combination.

Evans gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Evans successfully pulls guard.
Beast wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evans looking for a guillotine here but Beast defends easily.
Beast trying to stand up but can't free himself from Evans's guard.

Evans is looking for a triangle but Beast pushes his legs off easily.

Evans has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Beast is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Beast seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcus Beast just wasn't active enough.

Evans throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beast's waist but Beast gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Evans off to one side.

Evans dives in and grabs Beast's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beast pushes down on Evans's head and hops out.
The fight stays on the outside here - Evans looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Beast closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Evans's guard.

Beast seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Evans for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Beast will probably get the nod.

Beast clobbers Evans with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Beast uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Evans.
Rashad Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Evans rushes Beast and presses him up against the cage.
Evans jumps guard but Beast stands there with Evans around his waist. Evans gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Evans is pressed up against the cage. Beast has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Evans down to the mat. Evans avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Evans uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beast.

Beast lunges at Evans with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Evans's hand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcus Beast will probably get the nod.

Evans is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Evans takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Sloppy strikes from Beast. Those never looked like landing.

Beast closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Evans quickly recovers to half guard.
Beast tries to pass to full mount but Evans defends it.
Evans is looking to control Beast's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Evans avoid being mounted?
Marcus Beast overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
