Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christian Steggman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wilson gets to mount! Steggman was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Steggman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wilson looking to control but Steggman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Steggman is trying desperately to improve position.

Wilson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Steggman manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Steggman is trying to get back to half guard.

Wilson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Steggman has escaped the position, nice work there.
Steggman tries to improve position but can't.

Steggman is working hard here to advance position.
Wilson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steggman keeps working.
Steggman throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wilson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steggman pinned against the cage. Steggman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wilson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Steggman tries to clinch there but Wilson circles away.
Wilson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steggman circles away.
Christian Steggman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Wilson.

Steggman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Steggman is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Steggman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wilson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wilson regains half guard, as Steggman was trying to land strikes.

Steggman trying to mount his opponent but Wilson defends it.
Wilson is looking for a sweep. Steggman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Steggman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Steggman wants to take a breather but Wilson is having none of it.
Wilson is looking to control Steggman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted?
Wilson is not content to let Steggman control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Steggman thows a huge punch but Wilson dodges it nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Steggman tries for a takedown but Wilson circles away easily

and Wilson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devon Wilson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Steggman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wilson can't fight it off and eventually Steggman manages to take the fight to the floor. Wilson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steggman wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Wilson wants to sweep but no luck.

Wilson has his foot on Steggman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steggman works his way back into a safe position though.
Wilson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steggman's guard.

Wilson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Steggman trying to keep a closed guard but Wilson is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wilson stands and throws Steggman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Steggman tries to bench press Wilson off him but Wilson keeps the position.
Steggman manages to get back to half guard.
Steggman strikes from the bottom but Wilson passes into mount!
Steggman flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Steggman is looking to improve his position but Wilson isn't that keen on the idea.
Wilson avoids the attempt from Steggman to control.
Steggman is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Wilson is working for a guillotine from mount but Steggman frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wilson looking to isolate an arm here. Steggman doesn't see it coming and as Wilson extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Wilson!
