Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Version One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Brookins!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One throws a right hand that misses

and Brookins counters with a single leg into guard. One didn't expect that.
Brookins wants to pass the guard but One is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brookins stands up and waves to One to follow him.
A shot to the body from One misses
and Brookins counters with a one-two to the body.
Brookins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Brookins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brookins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brookins has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of One's face.
Brookins trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Brookins controlling the pace for now.
One on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if One tries to get out of the position.
One tries to reverse the position but Brookins maintains control.
Brookins cracks One with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

One wants to control but Brookins is having none of it.

One's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Brookins scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish One?
Brookins trying to control but he's not successful this time.

One wants to try and get back to his feet.

Brookins landing strikes, looking to finish!
Brookins controlling the position easily from mount.

Brookins goes for an armbar but he's not got it… One turns into him and now he's in Brookins's guard.

Brookins looking for a sweep. Not yet Brookins, not yet.
Brookins trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Brookins wants to get back to his feet but One is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

One decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brookins, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
One misses with a hook.

One pulls out of a head kick attempt.
One throws an off balance right hand

and Brookins counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Brookins is looking to take a break and control but One is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
One wants to get back to his feet.
Mark Brookins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brookins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Brookins wants to lay and pray for a moment but One keeps working.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
One seems a little lost for a moment, as Brookins dominates the positioning.

Mark Brookins has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
One misses with a lunging right hand

and Brookins counters with a single leg into guard. One didn't expect that.
One is trying to keep Brookins in close.

One uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Brookins shoots in but no luck this time.
Brookins is breathing heavily.
Brookins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but One swivels and escapes.
Version One is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brookins takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
One misses with a hook

and Brookins counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
One is trying to stand up here but Brookins is controlling him well.
The fighters are battling for position here. One manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

One wants to stand but Brookins is controlling the position.

Brookins stands and steps away. One gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A looping hook to the body misses from One. Brookins does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

One moves into range and clinches up with Brookins.
One stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
One pushes Brookins back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
One works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from One.
Brookins's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
One works on Brookins's body with a couple of short punches.

One breaks from the clinch.
An inside leg kick from One misses.
Brookins closes the distance and clinches up with One, looking for a takedown. Brookins pushes One against the cage but One circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Brookins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


That kick from One tenderised Brookins's leg. Brookins is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mark Brookins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
One lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Brookins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. One tries to avoid it but Brookins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag One to the ground. One escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A jab from One finds it's way through Brookins's defenses.

Version One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Brookins.
One lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
One misses with a looping left.
Brookins walks into a stiff left hand from One.
One thows a body shot but no joy.
One misses with a jab, cross combination.

One gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
One throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Brookinss head.

One throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

A nice right hand lands inside from One.
Version One has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

One pushes Brookins back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
One lands a shot to the body.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
One lands a body punch in the clinch.

One pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
One feints and then cracks Brookins's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brookins down.
One looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Brookins defending well as One loads up on a big left hand.
Brookins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but One avoids it really well and circles away.
One connects with a good right hand that stumbles Brookins. Brookins circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
One connects with a nice looking jab.

One will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
One thows a body shot but no joy.
One fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brookins manages to avoid it.
Brookins moves out of range of the leg kick from One.
Brookins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by One.
Brookins moves forwards but One connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Brookins dives in and grabs One's left leg, looking for a takedown. One pushes down on Brookins's head and hops out.
Brookins moves away from the strike by One.
Brookins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A swing and a miss from One.
One looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A combination from One does no damage.
Brookins keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from One.
One throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brookins ducks right into an uppercut from One.
One just misses with a punch to the body.
One thows a body shot but no joy.
Brookins takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Brookins slips a jab from One.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
One lands with a good body shot.

Mark Brookins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
One throws a jab when Brookins was well out of range.
