The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels slips a jab and a cross from Abdel Salam.
Michaels tries to clinch up but Abdel Salam circles away and keeps his distance.

Abdel Salam swings for the body but Michaels moves out of range.
Abdel Salam sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Abdel Salam looks to score with a jab to the body but Michaels is just out of range.
Michaels fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Abdel Salam, pushing him back against the ropes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters circling - Michaels throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Michaels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Abdel Salam bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Michaels in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
