Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kung Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lao comes to the ring accompanied by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAwWPadFsOA. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Thiago Machida!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida scores with a nice strike.
Machida jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lao misses with a few strikes there.
Lao shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Machida eats them both and turns towards Lao to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Lao misses with an attempted mid kick.
Machida throws a looping overhand right but Lao ducks down to avoid it.
Machida tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lao is able to avoid easily.
Lao throws a wild body kick that Machida sees coming a mile off.
Machida digs a good hook to Lao's body.
Machida blocks a head kick by Lao.
Machida misses with a few strikes there.

Lao throws a head kick that half lands.

Machida uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Machida lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lao has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lao and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Lao takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lao uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Machida.

Machida connects with a nice looking jab.

Lao looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Lao is breathing heavily.
Lao pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Machida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice defenses there by Lao.
Lao pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lao takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Machida throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lao on the side of the head.
A punch combination from Machida misses.
Lao throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Machida lands a big uppercut and Lao crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lao looks OK. Machida waves Lao back to his feet!
Lao is rocked!
Machida is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lao had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Machida dodges the punch combination from Lao.
Oh Lao is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lao throws a head kick but Machida moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Machida lands a body shot.
Lao seems to have got his legs back now.
Lao is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Machida walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Lao drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Machida swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Lao's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thiago Machida!
