The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izawa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bird was covering up waiting for the punch and Izawa finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Izawa scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bird avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Izawa lands a couple of digs.
Izawa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bird's head.
Bird utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Izawa's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Izawa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Izawa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bird's head.
Izawa is in close to Bird's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Izawa distracts Bird with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Izawa landing some decent shots from guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Izawa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Izawa works over Bird with some ground and pound from guard.
Bird really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Izawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Izawa cracks Bird with a solid left hand.
Izawa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bird has momentary wrist control but Izawa slips an elbow through the middle.
Izawa advances position into side control!
Izawa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bird is working to avoid the ground and pound but Izawa connects with a decent elbow.
Bird looks gassed!

Bird is rocked!
Izawa cracks Bird with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Izawa immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Bird is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Izawa!
