Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve St pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

StPierre could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

St pierre shoots for a double leg takedown but StPierre sprawls well. He's pushed St pierre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A close round but Steve St pierre will probably get the nod.

and St pierre counters with a one-two to the body.
St pierre gets caught flat footed, as StPierre shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
St pierre keeping moving, preventing StPierre from controlling successfully.
StPierre with a flurry of punches that miss.
StPierre looking to sit in guard and control but St pierre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
StPierre can't keep his opponent in guard - St pierre advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
StPierre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

StPierre has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
StPierre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

StPierre working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. St pierre looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by StPierre! Submission of the night perhaps?
