Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Hamilton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wayne Murdock! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murdock looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hamilton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Murdock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Murdock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Murdock looking to pass the guard. Hamilton wriggles free and stands up. Hamilton goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hamilton walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hamilton doesn't succeed with the takedown and Murdock counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hamilton won't be happy with that. Hamilton stops Murdock from passing to mount. Hamilton wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamilton tries to improve position but can't. Hamilton is breathing heavily. Murdock tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Murdock goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hamilton rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Murdock's guard! Nice work there by Hamilton! Murdock trying to control the position.
Hamilton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Murdock keeping moving, preventing Hamilton from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hamilton misses with a takedown attempt and Murdock counters with a slapping leg kick. Murdock closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Murdock has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hamilton is trying to keep an underhook but Murdock manages to get the takedown into half guard. Murdock is looking for a kimura but Hamilton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Murdock to get the leverage. Murdock wants to control but Hamilton is keeping him busy. Murdock is trying to work for a kimura but Hamilton is defending well.
Murdock tries to pass to full mount but Hamilton defends it. Murdock works his way into side control. Murdock is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hamilton has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Murdock trying to control the action but Hamilton is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamilton is looking for a sweep. Murdock is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hamilton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hamilton is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Murdock looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. You can see the frustration on Hamilton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Murdock moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Hamilton sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hamilton is trying to stand.
Murdock looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Murdock works his way into side control. Murdock working away. Hamilton dodges the ground and pound from Hamilton. Murdock wants to control but Hamilton is keeping him busy. Murdock tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Murdock working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hamilton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hamilton trying to keep a closed guard but Murdock is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murdock trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamilton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Murdock pushes down on Hamilton's leg and manages to get into half guard. Murdock is working for a kimura but Hamilton is defending it quite comfortably.
Murdock seems to be working for a kimura but Hamilton defends the submission attempt. Hamilton is pressing down on Murdock's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hamilton keeping moving, preventing Murdock from controlling successfully. Murdock tries to free his leg and advance position but Hamilton is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Murdock drops back looking for a leg! Hamilton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hamilton manages to kick Murdock off! Murdock jumps back into Hamilton's guard. Hamilton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murdock is controlling him. Murdock passes into half guard. Murdock seems to be working for a kimura but Hamilton defends the submission attempt. Murdock is trying to work for a kimura but Hamilton is defending well.
Murdock passes to full mount! Murdock looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murdock thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Murdock throws some wild stikes that Hamilton manages to avoid easily.
Hamilton bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Murdock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hamilton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hamilton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hamilton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Murdock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hamilton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hamilton showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murdock is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hamilton trying to control the position from guard on top but Murdock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hamilton is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Murdock has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hamilton is looking to defend but Murdock has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hamilton! Murdock pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hamilton taps out and this one is all over!
