Smith misses the jab.
Machida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Machida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Smith tries to clinch but Machida moves out of range.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machida circles away.
Machida fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Machida thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Machida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Machida on that attempt.
Machida clinches with his opponent.
Machida successfully pulls guard.
Machida looking for a guillotine here but Smith defends easily.
Smith missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Machida controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith pushes down on Machida's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Machida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith lands a big shot to the head and Machida winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
