Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Smith told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like Ryan Smith has been cut.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanchez drops Smith with a big left hand and mounts him. Smith is in big trouble!

Smith is rocked!

Sanchez get's back to his feet.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Sanchez finish him?
Smith wants to clinch up but Sanchez keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
Smith tries to bum rush Sanchez with a series of wild strikes but Sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sanchez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ryan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Sanchez.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanchez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Donk. Sanchez catches Smith right on the button with a cross.
Sanchez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Smith looks gassed!
Smith walks into a jab.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanchez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.
Sanchez cracks Smith with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Smith falls to his knees and Sanchez doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
