Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Henry!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bear rushes Henry and presses him up against the cage.
Henry dodges an elbow strike from Bear.
Henry looking to slow down the pace here.
Henry lands a knee to the body.
Still in the clinch, Bear scores with a nice short uppercut.
Henry tries to stall but Bear uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Henry breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bear ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Henry tries to keep at a distance but Bear has taken the fight into the clinch.
Henry throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bears head.
Bear blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Bear clinches with his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Henry throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bear blocks it with crossed arms.
Nice elbow from Henry.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Bear.
Bear lands with a light punch inside.

Henry is trying to maintain a safe position but Bear gets an underhook and turns Henry into the cage.
Bear lands an elbow that stopped Henry in his tracks for a moment.
Henry misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bear on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bear scores with a shoulder strike.
Bear lands with a light punch inside.
Henry prevents the takedown attempt.
Bear makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Henry is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bear is defending well for now.
Bear lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Bear tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Henry smiles and moves away.
Bear lands a two punch combo.
Henry wants to clinch up but Bear keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bear.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bear closes the distance and clinches.

Henry tries to break the clinch but Bear is controlling the position.

Bear has Henry pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Henry manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Henry tries to circle away but Bear has him pinned against the cage.
Bear changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Henry fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Henry throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A clash of legs there as Henry blocks the low kick.

Bear gets a clinch.

Henry tries to land a knee to the head but Bear blocks with his arms.

Henry jumps guard.
Bear missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bear throwing strikes but missing.
Henry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bear. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bear wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.
Bear prevents Henry from getting back to his feet.
Henry is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Bear trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Bear controlling from the top position.
Henry is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bear is controlling him.
Bear is in close to Henry's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bear thows a big elbow that misses.
Bear's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bear missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bear wants to stand and escape but instead Henry has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bear has a closed guard, preventing Henry from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Bear dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Bear shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bear postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Henry wants to get back to his feet but Bear is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bear has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bear throws and elbow that misses. Henry uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bear's guard. Nice move by Henry!
Henry wants to stand and escape but instead Bear has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Bear passes Henry's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Bear is looking for a kimura but Henry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bear to get the leverage.
Bear looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bear not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bear throwing shots but Henry is blocking nicely.

Henry is refusing to be controlled, as Bear sits in half guard.

Henry manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Bear drives through and clinches with Henry against the cage.
Bear scores with an uppercut up the middle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Henry would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bear is trying to keep Henry in close.
Bear looking for a sweep. Not yet Bear, not yet.
Henry wants to get up but he can't break Bear's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bear scrambles and gets back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
John Bear has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Bear is trying to drag Henry to the mat but Henry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Bear landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Bear lands an uppercut.
Bear drops down looking for an ankle pick but Henry pulls his leg out and moves away.
Henry throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

The fight stays on the outside here - Henry looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bear with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Henry fails in his attempt to clinch.
Henry feints and then cracks Bear's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bear down.

Bear throws a nice looking combination but Henry bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bear gets a clinch.
Henry tries to pull guard but Bear holds him up against the cage and eventually Henry drops back down to his feet.
Bear takes an elbow to the forehead.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Henry.
Bear tries for a takedown but Henry manages to get underhooks.

Henry has a couple of punches blocked by Bear.

Henry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Henry stops a takedown attempt from Bear.

John Bear dominated that second round.
That's time! Bear's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bear is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Bear lands a right hand that snaps the head of Henry backwards.

Henry wants to get back to striking at distance but Bear won't allow it.

Henry tries to work over Bear's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Henry is still on wobbly legs! Can Bear finish him?
Bear throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Henrys head.

Bear pulls guard effortlessly.
Bear lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Henry!
Bear drops a big elbow. That's hurt Henry! More shots from Bear and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Bear!
