Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zolar Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr. as his entrance music. Freddy Evans is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Freddy Evans!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Evans counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Emelianenko gets caught flat footed, as Evans shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Evans postures up in Emelianenko's guard and throws a big left but Emelianenko blocks it.
Evans throws a big right hand that misses.
Evans preventing the sweep.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but Emelianenko has wrist control.
Evans looking to sit in guard and control but Emelianenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Evans is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Evans has his feet on Emelianenko's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Emelianenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Emelianenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evans on the ground.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but Emelianenko has wrist control.

Evans is pushing down on Emelianenko's leg trying to pass to half guard. Emelianenko is fighting to maintain full guard but Evans has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Emelianenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Evans throws a strike but Emelianenko avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Freddy Evans dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Emelianenko throws a lazy uppercut
and Evans counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Evans lands with a shot to the body.
Evans throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Emelianenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Emelianenko throws a lazy right hand but Evans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Emelianenko throws a series of strikes that have Evans backpedaling.

A telegraphed right hand from Emelianenko misses the target.
Evans swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Evans looks to land a combination but Emelianenko avoids it well.
Evans throws a hook to the side of Emelianenko's head but Emelianenko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Evans fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Emelianenko falls off balance throwing a combination
and Evans counters with a nice body shot.
Evans misses with a straight left.

Evans shoots in looking for a takedown but Emelianenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Evans's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Evans uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Emelianenko has time to react.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Evans misses with an uppercut.
Emelianenko misses with a double jab

and Evans counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Emelianenko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Emelianenko connects with a right hand. Evans shakes it off.
Emelianenko pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans seems to be looking for submissions.

Evans is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Evans wants to free his trapped foot but Emelianenko is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Evans is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Emelianenko avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Evans.

Evans is working for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending it quite comfortably.
Emelianenko is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Evans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emelianenko is just riding it out for now. Evans eventually gives up the hold.
Emelianenko moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Evans working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Emelianenko's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Freddy Evans has got the better of the ground game so far.
Emelianenko is controlling Evans's posture.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Evans's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Evans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Emelianenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
